New Zealand Search and Rescue Structure
The NZSAR Council was established by Cabinet in February 2003 to provide high level strategic governance to all search and rescue agencies in New Zealand.
The New Zealand Search and Rescue Council is supported by the:
The Council comprises the Chief Executives (or their designated representative) of five public organisations:
- Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
- Maritime New Zealand (MNZ)
- New Zealand Police
- Ministry of Transport (MOT)
- New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF)
